WARNING: this was written when I was 11 years old, so most of the unedited chapters are a little bit cringy, but regardless i do hope you enjoy! ^^ Callie Hydale has always had something peculiar about her that separated her from normal folk. Her old townspeople would tell you it's because she was a freak, an anomaly, a strange being. But the ocean would tell you different. When Callie's wings spring free, when she escapes from the clutches of her abusive uncle and manipulative cousin, the possibilities she never dreamed of start. For instance, the shimmering tail that replaced her legs after she nearly drowned. As she's lured under the depths of the sea, she meets merfolk and mer-creatures, underwater kingdoms and schools for sea magic. Callie learns her true potential. Will Callie find her heart's greatest desires? Will she find friendship, rivalry, power, knowledge, happiness, and hate? What does the fates have in store for her? Will her friends find out her secret, her human form? But within the blue, placid sea, within Callie's new blissful paradise, a danger awaits, lurking in the shadows of the ocean. A threat, once thought gone, is rising once more. And Callie and her new friends are the new targets. What role do they play? Why are they, of all merfolk, being hunted? What secrets will be revealed to them, the truths and lies? Callie and her friends are going to find out, and they won't stop until it ends. published: 12/1/20 status: hiatus update: every 2 weeks -58,977 WORDS- 1k reads {1/24/21} 500 votes {2/8/21} 2k reads {3/2/21} 1k votes {5/6/21} 𓆉 all rights reserved 𓆉

I will be your heart, if you will be my shield. In a world where magic supposedly didn't exist, Serena has spent years struggling to conceal her unpredictable singing magic. While wishing for a peaceful life where she can sing without fear, she sees a man in handcuffs being forced into a shady research center. Their eyes meet, and the soulbond is forged. Darien is not from this world, and he's been held captive for years. With the soulbond amplifying his strength, he can fight his way through almost everything, but not every danger can be fought with fists. Their love draws them together even as power-hungry enemies try to pry them apart. They want to control Darien for their own purposes, but he's too strong to be controlled by force. Their love is their greatest strength-and their biggest vulnerability. But magic has its own rules, and no song can go unanswered. Excerpt: I pitied the man, although with so many cops around him, he was quite dangerous. Who needed 30 police officers to supervise one guy who in handcuffs and leg shackles? I watched him walk down the gauntlet between the rows of officers. It was as if I couldn't look away. He paused and looked around. His brilliant glowing blue eyes seemed to meet mine across the vast distance. I couldn't even blink as his eyes seemed to hold mine. The trees of a park broke our locked gaze as the bus kept on driving. I took a deep breath, suddenly realizing that I had stopped breathing the moment our eyes met. I had never seen such blue eyes before-and they glowed! A shiver ran through me. I had been too far away to make out the color of the man's eyes. My eyes watched the trees, hoping for a break in them so I could see the man again. I had no such luck. --- Fade-to-black action fantasy romance Copyright November 2017. The Orlov family name was one which struck fear into the heart of many a Russian; muggle and wizard folk alike. To any other, it was just a name which, after the initial pique of interest at it's foreign sound, would blend into the background like the rest. Unless, of course, you yourself came from one of the sacred pure blood families. Russian or not, you would come to fiercely respect the Orlov dynasty. However, this seemingly flawless family, not unlike all others, has its secrets. One in particular that could destroy not only the reputation of the Orlovs, but one that could end the family's succession.
