Embrace your scars, do not look to erase them; for sometimes answers lie within them. Following the fall of Queen Emira as Lucida's ruler, Akira Hwang has lived a quiet life in Nyla surrounded by the new people she has met and learnt to trust. What she doesn't expect next is to find herself wearing the crown and sitting on the throne, taking the place that she once thought was too high for her to reach. Meanwhile in Nyla, the pressure to become king lies upon the white-blooded prince as they unveil the dark secrets behind the existence of the Shadow King. For both of them, wearing the crown comes with heavy responsibility; they find themselves chained to the destinies written in their blood again, divided by the hierarchy set by the blood flowing inside them. Time is running out to set things right; in order to fix what's broken, they need to open up their past scars and embrace the meaning that lie behind them. This is a world where your worth is as much as the colour of your blood. Akira is the queen's most trusted soldier and general. Being the highest ranked amongst others, she is ruthless in doing her job. She only has one weakness: she cannot see colours. The world only represents itself as black and white to her and she has learnt to use it to her advantage. She slashes people with her sword without even batting an eye - the blood splattered across is merely a liquid that holds no meaning to her. In the kingdom of Lucida, the people are divided based on the colour of their blood. Royalty bear white blood, noblemen take crimson, commoners live with blue while the servants, considered the lowest in the ranks, are left with yellow blood. No one is allowed to marry outside their ranks and no one ever dares to break the norm throughout the centuries. When the queen orders her to find the identity of the mysterious Shadow King, she sets out on a quest to find the real king. Her list is narrowed down to 7 men, all from different backgrounds. Blood has to be shed in order to confirm the king's identity but she has one problem: she cannot determine the truth with her own eyes. In every story there are heroes and villains. They play the roles of both. Crescent Cafe is a nondescript cafe located at an alley, bringing in less than around 10 customers per day. Underneath the exterior of a failing business, the building masks the headquarters for 8 hired "couriers", doing jobs that range from menial ones such as catching a cheating spouse to skilled ones such as assassinating a gang leader. As long as it does not go against their principles and the pay's enough, the job is considered done. No one pays attention to them and only some know their secret identities. Han Byul is a recent university graduate crippling with student debt, fumbling around to find a part-time job that can at least sustain her until she finds a proper job. Frustrated after another failed job interview, she stumbled upon Crescent Cafe; she went in hoping for a cup of coffee and a peace of mind. What she got was a deadly secret that left the men with two choices: either kill her or take her in. But hey, at least the coffee's good. Action - comedy - romance... and many more in between. Hopefully. [Disclaimer: This story contains descriptions of sensitive themes, death, blood, violence and mild language. No explicit content. (Completed) "Lalisa Manoban, President of the Students' Government.." Irene said as she pointed a finger at the girl on the picnic table who seemed to be oblivious of her environment as she moved the book closer to her face. "Kiss Lalisa Manoban. Now." Rosé finished Irene's sentence and the two girls raised their hands for a high five. "No!" Jennie protested, crossing her arms in a stubborn manner, glaring at the two girls who seemed to be unfazed by the action. "Now, Jennie." Irene said firmly, disregarding the deathly glares that were sent her way. ** "Hey, what giv-" She was about to scold the offending person when she felt a pair of warm lips crashed into hers. Her eyes widened in shock, her body stiffened and her mind shut down. She didn't respond to the kiss. She felt the offending person's tongue slid across her lips and that snapped her out of the daze as she pushed the person away. The person landed on her butt on the ground and she heard the students laugh. All the students' attention were on them and she felt all the blood in her body drained in embarrassment. She glared at the girl in front of her before getting her things from the table and stomping away. She never felt so humiliated before. *** "Wow, it's Jennie. You lucky nerd." Seulgi commented as she stared on the laptop screen. "No! I am not going to ask for her help! She humiliated me this afternoon!" Lisa protested. "What? What happened?" Jisoo asked curiously as she fully turned to face Lisa. "She kissed me in front of the students!" Lisa said automatically. She covered her mouth after realizing what she had just said. "You've got to be kidding me! Jennie kissed you?! You lucky nerd! I hate you so much!!" Seulgi yelled as she turned towards Jisoo and Lisa, momentarily forgetting the laptop screen.
