Ezu has spent the last four months reading every book he can get his hands on. There isn't much else to do in The Library, he's found. It's read, or play with Bella - a creature that seems to be made out of shadows, and her games don't always end well for him. She keeps making up rules in the middle, and regularly tells him that the winner gets to eat the loser - but only after he's agreed to play. He can go outside anytime he likes, but even with all the fantastical worlds in the universe to visit, he's beginning to go a bit mad. Something in the back of his mind keeps whispering that the shadows are watching him. It's getting to the point that he spends every night under a light, making sure that Bella stays in sight. It's a toss up as to whether he's worried that she'll get eaten if she leaves his sight, or maybe he's just worried that she'll try to eat him if he closes his eyes again. --------- For as long as he can remember, The Library has been his home. It's not as impressive as it sounds, since he can only remember the last four months of his life. He woke up one day knowing nothing, not even his name. If he ever had home before this, he can't remember it. All he knows is what he's learned in the pages of the books that surround him. Well, that and what Bella has told him. His only friend in the whole library is the little shadow creature that tried to eat him before he woke up that first time. He hasn't been game to sleep again, not wanting to end up as a snack for the mischievous creature. It's not all bad though. He can read to his heart's content, and if his body is a bit different than the way it's supposed to be (according to a handy book he found on human biology), well that's hardly the most important thing in the world. Far more worrying, is the way the shadows watch him. There's nothing that he can see, but he can feel them; watching, waiting. For what, he doesn't know.
