Ben led a very boring life. No, really. He was a nerd. He loved his family; not that they spent so much time together. He went to school every day, he had a normal girlfriend, and he had normal friends. He kept up an A-average grade. And Ben would have stayed boring, for a very, very long time, if it wasn't for her. In a fit of drunken rage, a troubled, teenaged girl stole Ben from his world during one of the worst moments of his life, and hurt him. During the fight that resulted, he mistakenly cut himself on a shard of waste glass covered in odd-looking fluid. Once the mysterious substance had entered his body, he finally changed- not only mentally, but physically. He had turned into a bear and passed out, scaring the girl away just before he changed right back to normal, unconscious, and the police arrived. After that, though Ben had no memory of turning into the bear, he was different. He was more easily frightened, more antisocial, and suddenly he couldn't bear to be touched. Not by anybody. He watched, helpless, as this steadily crumbled to ruins every type of relationship he'd previously had. Now, he was alone, and he was different. But soon, Ben would realize how "different" oftentimes becomes the antithesis of "boring."

Wren Bates has enough stress in her life as it is. Her overbearing parents, her grades, her extracurriculars, not to mention all of the college applications. She doesn’t need anyone coming into her life and complicating it even more, especially not with just two months left until graduation. That’s exactly what Ash Quincy does though. Their relationship quickly grows into one of arguments, name calling, fighting and obstacles. Ash is the very last thing that Wren needs in her life, with his rebellious attitude, his bad boy reputation, his…everything. He’s the definition of trouble, but when the two of them are forced to spend time with each other, Wren and Ash seem to become more complicated than what they used to be- overworked nerd and no-good, leather-wearing bad boy. With Wren and Ash, it seems like there isn’t a line between friendship and enemies, arguing and laughing, good and bad, love and hate and no one knows the difference. Before Ash, Wren was the clear blue sky but Ash ruined that like rolling thunder. © 2014 RelentlessDreamer. All Rights Reserved.

Meet Hensley Clark, a totally and completely normal seventeen year old junior in high school who sees the cup as half-full. With her best friend of eight years, Oliver, a steady after-school job in her town's local shopping mall and a half-way boyfriend, she's perfectly content the way that her life is going. For the most part, that is. Overwhelmed by the pressure of keeping a huge secret that could potentially destroy her entire family along with trying to keep her grades up and constantly being forced to babysit her younger siblings, Hensley's only trying to make it out of high school and out of her small town in Florida alive and with her sanity. Now meet Waverly Barnes, a dangerously different seventeen year old junior in high school. Emotionally and mentally scarred by the events of her dark and disastrous past, Waverly is the complete opposite of Hensley Clark, which is a logical explanation for why these two girls cannot stand each other. She's an introvert with basically one friend, her older brother, Finley, if you can even call him a friend. Convinced that the world is full of terrible people, Waverly tends to keep to herself. When these two entirely different girls find their lives clashing together all of a sudden, Hensley head-over-heels in like with Waverly's brother, Finley, and Waverly herself getting enveloped in a mild case of serendipitous love, courtesy of Hensley's best friend, Oliver, the two girls are in for an exciting few months. Can Hensley fulfill her dreams of getting out of Florida forever? Will Waverly overcome her past hardships and finally be able to trust again? Can these two totally divergent girls get past their hatred for one another and be friends? Or will this fragile state of grace come crumbling to pieces?
