Sergeant Major Faris Kotroman, Sergeant Quentin McCalley, Corporal Preston Glina and Corporal Moritz "Moe" Schrader are such soldiers, men who willingly took up arms to defend their homes and fellow humans against whatever the hell this unknown incursion was, yet the first engagement against a major force of such creatures saw the local national force alongside forces of the Coalition retreat in terror, these four men were lucky enough to find one another by sheer luck. Yet before they could celebrate the fact they had indeed found one another in the bloody aftermath of battle, another smaller rift opens right in front of them...
