Hope Beaumont is a regular girl, who dreams of adventuring outside her mundane life. She dreams of far off stars, littering the dark sky like flakes of gold, of distant pasts and far off futures, a land of "what-if's". She is just like everyone else. She goes to work, eats fish n' chips, watches telly and sleeps. She is "normal", until she meets the doctor in a chance encounter. Hope's life is flipped upside down as the strange man saves her and her friend l, Rose, from being killed by living store mannequins. Despite the constant danger, Hope doesn't regret taking the doctor's hand.

Age 26 with an uncertain future, Marlene wasn't sure what was going to happen with the rest of her life, she certainly wasn't expecting this. Now stuck in another universe, one in which was a television show back home. How can she stay on the side-lines when perhaps the only way to get home lies with an alien in a time traveling police box?
