I tugged the sleeves of my sweater to cover both of my hands, subconsciously as I walked into my dorm room. There was a boy, he looked a little older than me, sitting on the ledge, the same boy I saw earlier, reading his book. One of the windows at the back of the room was opened, letting the air in. It must be his girlfriend's room then. He saw me and walked back up the roof and climbed into the room. He held out his hand, "Hello, I'm Max." * * * * * This story goes over the first year of Logan and Max knowing each other. With some extra stuff at the end. We've all watched about a million Romantic Comedies where the boy breaks up with his girlfriend because he realizes he's in love with someone else, the "right" girl. And when this finally happens, we're all really happy about it. They immediately set off together, paying no mind to the fact that the boy was in a different relationship, I don't know, about five seconds ago. The person we never think about is the ex-girlfriend, the "wrong" girl. And why not? It hardly seems fair, once you think about it. She's the one always being dumped, or left at the alter, or publicly humiliated. But no one even spares her a second thought, because she was just in the way the whole time. She kept the right girl away from the boy for so long. And of course, we were all rooting for the right girl, who wouldn't be? Serena Briggs was just as guilty of this as everyone else is, until her boyfriend Brayden dumped her for his best friend in front of half the school. Then she became the real life wrong girl.

Wren Bates has enough stress in her life as it is. Her overbearing parents, her grades, her extracurriculars, not to mention all of the college applications. She doesn’t need anyone coming into her life and complicating it even more, especially not with just two months left until graduation. That’s exactly what Ash Quincy does though. Their relationship quickly grows into one of arguments, name calling, fighting and obstacles. Ash is the very last thing that Wren needs in her life, with his rebellious attitude, his bad boy reputation, his…everything. He’s the definition of trouble, but when the two of them are forced to spend time with each other, Wren and Ash seem to become more complicated than what they used to be- overworked nerd and no-good, leather-wearing bad boy. With Wren and Ash, it seems like there isn’t a line between friendship and enemies, arguing and laughing, good and bad, love and hate and no one knows the difference. Before Ash, Wren was the clear blue sky but Ash ruined that like rolling thunder. © 2014 RelentlessDreamer. All Rights Reserved.
