In order for her to break the curse, she needed to find an immortal soul that would trade his life for hers, but curses can't be broken that easy. There is a clause that comes with it. Ophelia has to make the immortal fall in love with her and this love must be the truest form of love. After 250 years of her trying, Ophelia has come to realize that 30 days was not enough to make someone fall in love with her. Especially when she can't move anywhere far from the crystal. When she reappears again, she realizes that not only is her time is running short. The red crystal was draining her life force. If she doesn't find love soon, she'll forever fade into the glass and disappear from the face of earth. That was until she awoken 50 years later and found herself not just with any immortal, but a daring, obnoxious vampire king that won't let her go.
