Billie Joe Armstrong is a 15-year-old orphan-turned-foster kid with an extremely fucked up past. He hasn't spoken to anyone for years...not since... No. Billie can't think about it. He can't show emotion. He won't show emotion. He can't. After being shipped around from foster home to foster home due to some...incidents...he's managed to find a place that allows him to keep to himself, and a foster 'mother' who's extremely relaxed and doesn't push him to be 'normal.' He's lived there for over a year, and has managed to push away all new potential 'parents.' And he likes it that way. Unfortunately, Billie's peace can't last. His life suddenly gets turned upside down when a couple chooses to adopt Billie against his wishes. They hope to help him get over his past demons, and return with him to his hometown of Oakland, California; a place he hasn't been in years. Not since... No. His new 'family' Harriet and Silas Wagner try and return him to as normal as a teenage life as possible while pushing him to his limits and bringing up past experiences in hopes to 'cure' him. To make him speak again. But when Billie's uncooperative silent nature begins to get to his foster parents, things take a turn for the worse, in both home life and school life.
