Astrid Hunt loved puzzles. Since she was little she loved seeing the layers to them. The way her brain worked was complicated and one of the few things that made sense to her were puzzles. Astrid was born with HIP aka High Intellectual Potential. Along with that came the love hate relationship with her photographic memory. Magic was a way for her to put those skills she had to use. Astrid's specialty was in puzzles and pickpocketing. She used that skill as a way to earn money. Astrid was orphaned at 13 when her parents died in a car accident. She had no other family so she was going to go into foster care. Astrid hated the idea so she took a bag and ran. She had been running ever since. When she was 15 she found a small group but things went sour and by 18 she was on her own again. when Astrid was nineteen she tried to pickpocket this guy she saw in the street. He was a few inches taller than her, had black hair, and wore a black leather jacket. It was a simple trick. She took money and switched it with an Ace of diamonds. A simple token to trade. At first it worked. She had the money but a few minutes later when she went to check again she had her card. Only now it had a phone number. One that belonged to a Jack Wilder. It also had an address of a coffee shop. Astrid decided to take a leap of faith and went. The minute she walked in and saw him sitting in the corner with sunglasses and that same black leather jacket she knew it was over. Then the rest was history. Ace and a Wildcard. What could go wrong? Kate Davis kommt zum LAPD, sie wird ein Rookie und wurde Tim Bradford zugeteilt. Das die zwei sich nicht mögen, wäre untertrieben. Kate hasste Tim, sehr sogar. Aber durch einen einfachen Einsatz dreht sich ihr Leben auf den Kopf und sie merkte das langsam aber sicher Gefühle in ihr, gegenüber Tim, hochkommen, die sie sonst so gut verdrängen konnte.
