"I don't know why I thought you were different." I turned around at this, just in time to see tears streaming down her face. "I thought maybe when you didn't run at the little things, you could accept who I was, no, what I was. But you're just as small minded as everybody else."
Her hands had balled up around the uniform, scrunching and unscrunching the piece of fabric, while she cried tears of pain. She looked so little and broken standing in this tiny room, letting her feelings go, and it was all because of me.
"Melody... I'm sorry. It just shocked me to hear that you were going by a different name and everything. I've been lied to before. Reacting like that is just a habit now and I-"
"Don't. Please don't. I've caused you enough pain for a lifetime. I've caused everyone enough pain for a lifetime."
"Look, just-"
"Cayden stop. You can't-"
I cut her off. My arms wrapped around her body and pulled her close to me, until our bodies were touching. One of my hands snaked around her waist and the other pulled her chin up to mine so my lips could softly brush her own lips. She tried to push away, to get away from the affection I was trying to show her, but soon realized, her efforts were nothing to me and melted into the kiss.
