Can you really control your fate? - Kiah White, a quiet sixteen-year-old from California, doesn't want any trouble. But after an accident that almost kills her, she is thrown into a world of danger, myth, and mayhem. She is made an offer - a way back to her old life - by a mysterious man in a long cloak. But the terms are less than ideal... While Kiah's life is turned upside down, halfway across the world, Nils Svart is given a second chance. This time, the offer comes from a slight man with dark hair and scarred lips. Who are these men? Nils knows them well. They are old gods settling a wager. A wager that will lead to the end of destiny. But as one of the gods begins to dream, the sands of time start to run dry. They are dreams of darkness and violence. Dreams of his own death, and the end of us all. Winter is cold this year. Colder than it should be... *** Sequel coming soon... Cover: @lightmage1

ON HIATUS (this has ended up as more of a sneak peek of the story, which I still explore and develop with sketches and worldbuilding; you can still see these on my insta and tumblr @sylvrndoodles. I may continue this in the future, but I'll probably opt for a rewrite!) Mae and Aelsiq, mermaid and selkie, are close friends. When Aelsiq's sealskin is stolen on dry land, however, Mae must find a way to help her--a way that involves a deceptively benevolent goddess. When Mae is involuntarily transformed into a human, she and Aelsiq join forces with three humans whose interests align with theirs: Perrin; a friendly expert of magical flora and fauna; Hayun; a fighter with a mysterious past; and Fenn; a prickly noble with a sharp tongue. Together the five travel the vast, magical lands of Kerriya, encountering fantastical creatures and people alike as they search for those who stole Aelsiq's sealskin and how to get it back. I used to update every Saturday, but now I'll be publishing on Saturdays only if my newest chapter has been read--it'll take some pressure off of me since me readership is pretty low anyways and I'll be able to write more and edit more before publishing, so my chapters and arcs should be a bit better before I publish them! This might change in the future, but I think this will be a good schedule for now :) Let me know what you like (or don't like!) in the comments and remember to leave a vote if you enjoyed the chapter ^-^

It's been four years since the Zombie Apocalypse destroyed human civilization. Billions of people were either killed or turned into one of the blood-thirsty monsters doomed to plague the earth, killing any human left alive. A band of misfits attempts to survive together at the end of the world, forming new friendships and family ties in a compound built by their leader years before the fall. But the sudden arrival of a strange new survivor threatens to upend all of their progress. He's an amnesiac they found in the woods, covered in blood and wearing nothing but a few scraps of clothing with the name tag 'Dan' as the only clue to his identity. There's something off about him, and the longer he stays around, the more it seems that he's not entirely human. When he walks away without a scratch from a freak accident that should have killed him, fears rise among the colonists now that it seems Dan is immortal. No one knows what to make of his mysterious past or his unusual powers. But Dan discovers early on that he's not the only one with unnatural talents. Their leader, Jonathan, has been keeping a secret for over twenty years-he knew that the Apocalypse was coming. And now, he's seen something else on the horizon, and he doesn't know if he'll be ready for it in time. The colonists are forced to make a choice: stay hidden away behind the walls of their Colony for the rest of their lives or go out and fight to take back their world. Strange developments come out in the case of Dan's identity, the truth about the zombie virus comes to light, and nothing will ever be the same again.
