As Goggles and Rider watched TV on a rainy night near Halloween, Off the Hook announced they were having a couples costume contest. Goggles persuades Rider to join and they have a night they'll never forget. Halloween special!! :)

Goggles and Rider had been 'friends' since first grade... Or that's what he would have liked to think. Goggles had always acted nice to Rider, the only one in the school he wasn't able to make smile, but he was determined to do so. When he saw Rider years later, ranked S+ and highly regarded, he didn't remember him, from school all those years ago, but from consistent nightmares he had been having for over a month now. He had seen Rider dead, how can he act 'normal' around him? Can he confide into Rider about his dreams? What if he thought he was a freak who wanted him dead?! That couldn't be farther from the truth that Goggles has hidden in the depths of his mind. Rider remembered that blue squid from grade school. Goggles. The one who never stopped smiling, the one who never left him alone. The one who was always bothering him with small things. The one who, for some reason, had a habit of showing up to class wearing nothing even though he is constantly reminded. Of course Rider remembers him. Seeing him years later with a pathetic, stupid team is just as he expected of the blue idiot. But then why, for some reason, was he able to beat Rider at turf war? Was it because Goggles was better friends with his team? Did he need to know his team better to co-operate with them? Goggles is the only one who can make Rider smile out of genuine joy. Of course, Rider couldn't let anyone know that. It would destroy his reputation if anyone knew he liked the adorable blue idiot. Cover Art is not mine.

After the events of the Halloween splatfest, Rider and Goggles go on and enjoy the festivities. But there's an Erie and somewhat warm feeling surrounding them...it's probably nothing!

it was all he could do just to keep a smile up around his friends. specs's constant nagging that left him feeling useless, bobble's irritating voice and cheery words that seemed to be saying the opposite in his head, headphones's perfection always putting him down by letting him know he would never be like her. he couldn't even be anywhere near "alright." goggles didn't even seem like goggles anymore.
