**Summary:**
**Celeste Winters** is 19, innocently sweet, allergic to the sight of men, and terrified of them. This is a result of a tragic incident from her past that no therapist has ever been able to interpret. She's also lost. Not metaphorically. She's actually lost in the dark woods near her dreary hometown of Gravenhollow, in one sock, holding onto a cat named Freud.
She believes she's hallucinating when a dark limousine pulls up alongside her. A horned man, designer-clad and bloodied, with a voice that doesn't sound right, invites her in. He introduces himself as **Lucien D'Arcangelo**, head of the Seven Hells Syndicate-a devil crime family that trades in souls, sins, and second chances.
He insists that Celeste is a "gift" he is owed-a virgin soul, unblemished body, keeper of an old forgotten key to Heaven's gates.
She only wishes to return home. He wishes for her to kneel down.
Too bad devils' bargains are enforceable. Particularly when they are sealed with blood, terror, and something Celeste did not even know she still possessed: lust.
As Celeste becomes more entrenched in Lucien's dark life of crime syndicates, damned contracts, and tempting cruelty, she must confront her worst nightmare:
What if she does not wish to flee?
