Steve is trying to live his life while Eddie is not making it that easy with him falling head over heels for Eddie and vice versa. (Made this fanfic in 2022!! there are a lot of typos and some things that straight up don't make sense, just as a heads up. Steve knew he made a mistake back in the upside down before him and the gang went to take on Vecna. It's ate him alive for the past 4 years now. He remembers it so well like it was yesterday. The moment plays repeat in his mind every second of every day almost, the words left Unsaid, the words said between eye contact and a stupid head nod but never to actually leave Steve's mouth. He hated himself for not speaking what he felt that night. He had felt it all along. Since the moment he ever laid his eyes on something so perfect. It was like his heart had jumped out of his chest that day and never belonged to him again. And Steve knew that the feelings were shared. He knew it because the same look he saw in his eyes every morning he got up out of bed before even getting to see that one thing that his heart belonged to, was the exact look staring directly back at him before he walked away to take on the monster underneath Hawkins, Indiana. "Hey, Steve?" The voice that echoed Steve's heart beat called out to him, making him stop dead in his tracks and turn around. "This is it," Steve thought to himself. "Finally, the confession of whatever this is between us is coming to light and we can have our big moment before this battle and after we defeat this bastard, I'm coming back for you baby, because I love you." Steve waited for them to speak, his eyes searching theirs. They reluctantly stare at Steve, making him start doubting his feelings are mutual and his nerves get the best of him. "Make him pay," Eddie says, swallowing hard and looking down before looking back up at Steve. Crushed and also still seeing that same look of confusion and fear, Steve just nods. Steve gets it. As he turns around to walk away, he doesn't realize that this would ultimately be the last chance he gets to confess his undying love for Eddie Munson. ******THIS STORY TAKES PLACE 4 YEARS AFTER The battle!!
