George is 17 and in his last year of high school when he gets terrible news. After having weird nosebleeds, strange bruises and a lot of dizziness, the doctors find out George has leukaemia. George's best friend, Clay, is there the whole day for George and as George fights his battle against leukaemia, Clay supports him in every way possible. He shaves his head too and is there with George in all of his chemos. He buys George his favourite beanies and even let someone make one for him. But doctors start to lose hope of George ever getting better and since there is no match for a stem cell transplantation, there is only one person left to help him. But when this happens again, George's YouTube channel starts to suffer under his major depression, his PTSD and anxiety. He cuts off all contact causing Dream to fly out to his house after he has to go to hospital. But to make everything worse, George stops talking because of his trauma. He appears to be completely muted suddenly... George and Clay are forced to leave each other's side after their parents fell out over Clay's brother having a boyfriend, they become forbidden to any kind of contact, because of a terrible fight between the two parents. But how long will that last? Neither of their parents are aware that George's and Clay's bond is anything more than a friendship, yet they both manage to form a secret relationship together managing to hide it from George's homophobic parents. At their best friend Sapnap's house they're able to be alone. Just as they think they are safe more problems arise. College is always full of surprises, friends, and stress. And a dash of romance drama. George is a coder, always has been and always will be. His passion is based around the game Minecraft, although they aren't quite well-known. He's the typical stay-in-the-dorm hiding with his computer type student, rarely going out unless he needs food. Clay is an athletic god. It's an understatement saying the college swim team is good since, well, they're the best. If high school status's were still around, he would be well into the popular podium, the girls adoring him, many friends, and practically being a teacher's pet. Maybe it was fate that Clay decided to work at the local coffee shop, a quaint location amongst the common restaurants of a small town, which George finds to be a second home. Maybe it was fate that George manages to get tangled into the "popular" circle. All they know is that college is one helluva game to play.

After George is kicked out from his home for being transgender, he looses hope in ever finding someone that would accept him for who he really is. George's only option was to move in with his homophobic grandparents and he only wishes to be called a boy however that apparently was too much to ask. In a last attempt to find happiness he attends a music class as he enjoys singing. He meets a boy, Clay, however will Clay be just like the others?
