Dan Howell is a timid boy, who always does as he is told. He was once friends with Phil Lester, the 'bad influence' who soon ditches Dan for the popular group in Year 7. After five years of not talking to each other, they're partnered in a project and Phil's wants to win Dan over just like he has with most of their year. But yet, Dan is determined to find out what Phil is hiding behind his arrogant mask.

Detention - even the word just made me cringe. Schoolwork for me, unlike most people, was a joy. I lived for education and fed on knowledge, much to other people's amusement. But I didn't care. They didn't bother me and I didn't bother them, it was a two way system that had worked perfectly. Until him. The one that would turn me and my perfectly organised life upside down. For better or worse, it happened, whether I liked it or not.

One Summer. That's all it takes for everything to change ~ but is it for the better? All I know is that in the end, Whatever is meant to be will be.

It's come to a point where pain is a normal feeling for me and that actually feeling happy is very rare. My best friend, Connor Ball, is probably the only reason I'm alive but you know apart from that I'd probably be dead. I live with my brother, Bradley, and occasionally with my sister, Natalie, while Bradley and the rest of The Vamps are on tour. My parents split when I was very young and currently my dad is very close to going back to jail and my mum is in hospital long term. My future is uncertain mainly because I don't even think ill have much of a future. I feel like I wont live until my 17th birthday little loan much afterwards.
