Draco and Hyacinth used to be friends. As children of Great Pure blood families they were raised with strong beliefs in Blood purity and that their precious golden blood had to remain within these families. The Malfoy Family and the Blackwood Family were unusually close which led to both children growing up close under the watchful eyes of their parents.
