The story starts simple. We meet Julie Molina, a musically gifted sixteen year old who goes to the beat of her own drum and who is completely different from her perfect older sister who is on her way to engagement to the prince of England. Julie has absolutely no desire for the gossip papers, she seems to be getting pulled into the headlines. To keep her out of them, she is forced to join her sister Carrie in England for the summer. It's not until she's assigned a group project with three boys that she realizes she never made a mistake in leaving home, despite one of them being a grouch with underlying mommy issues. It's through the never ending blows delivered by their college's 10 week quarter system that they're able to find moments where they can jam, pretend to study in the library, and trauma bond on the roof of a school's parking structure like any other college students.
