Years after leaving Pittsburgh without telling the full truth, Dr. Naomi Carter returns to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center for what is supposed to be a temporary assignment. She expects the hospital to remember her. She expects the old rumors to follow her. Most of all, she expects Dr. Jack Abbot to hate her. What she does not expect is how much it still hurts to see him. Jack believes Naomi abandoned him during the worst period of his career. He believes she walked away from their secret engagement, their shared apartment, and the life they were planning together. What he does not know is that Naomi took the blame in a hospital investigation to protect him. He also does not know that she was pregnant when everything fell apart, or that she lost the baby before she ever found the courage to tell him. Now an old investigation is reopening, and Naomi's return forces both of them to face the truth they buried years ago.

🖤 Breaking Protocol The hardest rules to follow are the ones that feel wrong. A fan fiction based on characters from The Pitt. There are rules in medicine you don't break. Professional boundaries. Emotional distance. Control. Dr. Frank Langdon has already broken enough rules for one lifetime. A former addict. Recently divorced. Barely holding everything together. Dr. Mel King knows better than to get involved. She's worked too hard, come too far, to let something messy ruin it. It starts with conversations. Late nights. Shared silences. The kind of understanding you don't have to explain. And then it becomes something else. Something they don't talk about. Something they can't seem to stop. Because the more they try to follow the rules... the more it feels like the only thing they're doing wrong is staying away from each other. Slow burn. Messy. Will-they-won't-they

At twenty, Clara Greene walked into the hospital alone. At twenty-eight, she's the chief resident everyone depends on-and no one really knows. When her working relationship with Dr. Robby begins to blur into something more, Clara does what she's always done: keeps it contained, controlled, and unspoken. But Robby is used to keeping his distance for a reason. And the closer he gets, the harder it becomes to pretend she's not already under his skin. She falls first. He falls harder. And some lines don't blur quietly-they break.

Dr. Grace Mercy has never struggled with focus. Not through early graduation, not in med school, not while training as a military officer. Discipline built her. Routine defined her. There was always a next step. Until now. Back in Philadelphia for her sister's first year of college, Grace is trying to relearn something she was never trained for-being a civilian. Normal life feels unfamiliar, too quiet, too unstructured. So when a position opens at a trauma center in Pittsburgh, she takes it. Not to run, but to adjust. To find a rhythm that comes with orders. She expects long hours, chaos, and control. What she doesn't expect... is someone who understands her without explanation. Someone just as sharp, maybe just as guarded-and somehow, the one thing that pulls her off balance. For the first time, Dr. Grace Mercy isn't sure if losing focus is a weakness... or the start of something she never planned for... let's hope they welcome the new Attending with open arms.

⋆。°✩°。⋆ One year ago, Sophia and Jack crossed a line they were never supposed to cross-after Robby's birthday night out, what started as tension and stolen glances turned into a single, unexpected moment that neither of them ever truly talked about again. No labels, no closure, just silence layered over something that never fully left either of them. Since then, they've learned how to exist around each other in the ER-careful, controlled, buried under professionalism. Jack stayed distant, convinced it was the safer choice. Sophia told herself it didn't mean more than it did. But both of them kept remembering it anyway. Now, with Sophia transferring to night shift, everything shifts. The walls between them start to crack in the long hours of shared trauma cases, quiet break room conversations, and moments where their hands brush too long or their eyes linger too openly. Night shift strips everything down-no distractions, no escape-just them, the chaos of the ER, and feelings they never dealt with properly. What was once buried starts resurfacing. Tension turns into closeness. Silence turns into almost-confessions. And every shift becomes harder to survive without acknowledging what that night really was-and what it still might become. Because in the end, it was never just one night. ⋆。°✩°。⋆ Jack Abbott x fem OC

Dr. Penelope Henry wasn't new to the PTMC, but this "situationship" as Princess called it, was new. Dr. Jack Abbot, the older, brooding, night shift attending had taken a liking to Penelope immediately, though opposite shifts kept them at a safe distance. That is until she switches to night shift for her last year as a resident. The two "Dark Clouds" of the PTMC were nearly the exact same person. Having both served, with the baggage and scars to prove it, there was an immediate attraction. Meeting someone so alike, who could understand everything no one else could, resulted in both butting heads and crossing professional boundaries. As the two navigate their complicated and frustrating feelings, they're forced to acknowledge parts of themselves they never wanted to. Hiii this is my first time writing a fic so please be nice but feel free to leave suggestions! Also, please don't expect medical accuracy in this story. My only medical background is an intense search history.

The night shift was never meant to change anything. Just another hospital, another set of rules-another place to keep everything contained. Samantha Hayes doesn't have room for distractions, not with grief that hasn't settled and a life that refuses to slow down. And Jack Abbott isn't one to make space for anything personal. So nothing happens. Nothing crosses the line, nothing becomes what it shouldn't. But some things don't need permission to take shape. And by the time it's noticed- it's already there.
