She immediately realises she is different; not only does Elle arrive with Thomas, another Greenie, but she is the only girl among boys who came before her. Her arrival is the catalyst that turns the Gladers' world upside down. As they search for a way out, Elle is haunted by fragmented dreams of a past she can't recall. Flickers of familiarity with Thomas hint at a deeper connection than either of them can remember and together, they unravel the mystery of their lost memories and the true purpose of the Maze.

After months and months of torturous experiments, Skylar will never be the same. After months and months of planning, Thomas, Newt, and the other remaining members of the Right Arm, formulated a plan to take back their abducted friends. Their plan almost worked completely but unfortunately, Minho slipped their fingers. Though Skylar is finally out of WCKD's clutches, her experience with them took its toll. Everyone has no idea of the pain she went through, but they can tell it definitely put its mark on her. Newt worries for her every day, wanting to help her but doesn't know how when he has his own problem growing each day. A group consisting of Thomas, Skylar, Newt, Frypan, Brenda, and Jorge head to the Last City in hopes of rescuing Minho from WCKD. Skylar is constantly haunted by her past and doesn't know if she should tell anyone about her struggles. With the help of an unexpected ally, the group formulates a plan to get Minho back. Without the two even realizing, Newt and Skylar grow closer through each other's own struggles. Newt fears what might become of him, but Skylar might be just the person he needs to survive. I only own Skylar and Chris. All other characters and plot belong to James Dashner. Some points in the story actually belong to Suzanne Collins.

Just like so many others, she arrived in the maze with no memory but her name: Skylar. She escaped the horrid maze and was rescued. But no matter what these "rescuers" told her, she knew something was wrong. Along with some other kids, including an intriguing blonde headed boy, she escapes from the so-called "rescuers" and heads into the outside world not knowing what comes her way. Struggling with her memories, she must survive the dangers the world holds for her and her companions. She doesn't know why she has the ability to do certain things. For instance, knocking someone out in less then five seconds, or, knowing how to use a small pocket knife to take someone out. As she continues her journey she learns more about her past. Discover pieces of Skylar's past in this first book, "Scorch of the Mind". Extra Notes: This story starts at the beginning of Maze Runner: Scorch Trials movie. For this story, Skylar x Newt but their relationship will develop more in the sequel. All characters except for Skylar and Chris belong to James Dashner. The basis of the story also belongs to James Dashner.
