"Do you want me to live?" I choke the words out, nearly a sob, head pounding. Maven steps into my cell and this time I do not move away. I stay in my place on the cold ground, waiting to see how he responds. He stops right in front of me, crouching down. He puts a hand out to push the hair out of my face and I let him. He is oddly gentle and an unreadable expression takes over his face. "Of course I do," he finally says, an inkling of pain on his pale face. "And I can have you live." This is my take on what would have happened if Mare chose Maven in the Bowl of Bones. FANFIC: MAVEN x MARE from RED QUEEN. Book focused on events from GLASS SWORD, but takes its own from there until the end. WARNING: Before reading, I want to get a few things straight. The characters, settings are all owned by Victoria Aveyard. I am a great fan of the Red Queen series, but after reading I still believe that Maven deserves something better that being a monster. I just can't shrug the feeling off that there's more to his side of the story. Aside from original scenes from the Glass Sword, I will be adding different story lines of my own.
