Feliciano, the avatar, has to struggle with problems no other avatar had to deal with before: Seemingly not being able to bend two of the four element, although he is supposed to master all of them. And the avatar before him died at a young age, meaning his wisdom is very limited. Romeo, the youngest of the brothers, is a talented airbender who will soon leave the family, despite only being twelve years old, to go to Republic City.
