But the true extent of his feelings for her haven't been realised, and initially, Peeta will risk anything to survive- even if that means he'll have to return home without Katniss. But as Peeta's time with Katniss increases, so does his affection towards her. Away from home, he has the opportunity to disentangle his complicated web of emotions.
