AU, where Shuichi and his friends would have been a part of Class 79 of Hope's Peak. He is slated to be the Ultimate Detective of Class 79, but when the Tragedy occurs, that forces him and a few of his friends to move to Towa City to survive. They are safe for a while, but then the Warriors of Hope strike. Forcing him to survive. Thanks to his wits and with help from Kaito Momota and Kaede Akamatsu, he survives. However, while out on a supply run, he runs into the unconscious Nagisa Shingetsu by pure chance, but the boy is injured. He knows he won't survive without help. Against his better judgment, he decides to help nurse the boy back to health as well as find his other friends. After all, he can't just leave someone who needs help behind. Even if the world thinks he should.
