Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it. Hi y'all. Last year I quit my job, married a Canadian, and uprooted my entire life - old typewriters, vintage costumes and all - to Toronto. We called it our Canadian adventure and we're living in Apartment A, or as we call it, Apartment "Eh?" I was the 6th-grade "slut." And I kept a diary. So I decided to create The UnSlut Project in the hopes that my own diary entries could provide some perspective to girls who currently feel trapped and ashamed. I am publishing these entries one at a time, without changing a single word except for the names of the people involved. My limited commentary, which is confined to brackets in each entry, is meant to provide the relief of my current perspective, fifteen years later. A day by day account of my 2014 Nanowrimo journey. NaNoWriMo for those of you who don't know is a challenge to write 50,000 words in a month. That month is November, and for over ten years writers have been gathering together to attempt this feat. I first heard of NaNoWriMo in 2013, I managed to complete the challenge that year and the draft I wrote will form part of the second Portal Wars book. More importantly the challenge kickstarted my writing, showing me what was achievable if I applied myself to the challenge. This year I will be drafting my new book Cleansing River, and hope to share a slightly edited version as I progress through the month. I am aiming to complete the entire story this time round but will be happy with writing 20,000 words if life gets very busy. After all its the taking part that counts not the winning.
