The blood was on Harry's hands, but the consequences were on Peter's

"I'd dreamt of Peter Parker every night since my return to New York; the near proximity of my former best friend for the first time in almost a decade made it impossible not to think about him. Strangely enough, I hadn't once dreamt of my deceased father, whose illness brought me back home in the first place. I was faced with running an entire company in my father's wake-an onslaught of responsibility and decisions I had no interest in making-and all I could think about was Peter-fucking-Parker." Will we find out what would've happened if Peter had chosen Harry over Gwen? How would it have unfolded? Or will Harry's love remain unrequited?

"Harry," Felicia said, "I know it's not my place but...don't you think he might have been flirting with you?" "Flirting. With me?" Harry laughed sarcastically. He held his disingenuous grin for a few seconds as Felicia continued to glare at him. "With all due respect, take a hint, Mr. Osborn."

In hopes of improving his hand-to-hand combat, Harry asks Peter to be his sparring partner. It takes a few attempts, because it's such a "reckless" and dangerous idea, to challenge none other than Spiderman to a fight, even if he does hold back most of his strength. However, Peter eventually agrees, albeit reluctantly - and when he does, things take quite the turn.

Peter always knew there was something between him and Harry. He didn't know what it could be. Harry was his best friend. After becoming Spider-Man, Peter never wanted to be the reason Harry gets hurt. Harry always knew he liked Peter in a romantic sense. He knew Peter felt something similar, but Peter was very oblivious to his feelings. Peter was brilliant, but he wasn't good at picking up romance.
