A race of human beings with horrific ancestry, an Empire's conquest of a faraway island, a man's search for divinity. Here lies Gehenna, here lie the damned. ***This novel contains mentions of violence, murder, rape & suicide -- Reader Discretion Advised*** Author's Note: Growing up with shows like Supernatural and Black Butler, reading novels like Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth, and most importantly reading the Bible the full way through, I've gotten extremely fascinated by the esoteric aspects of Christian mythology and Biblical lore. This story is inspired heavily by such Christian motifs and symbolism, specifically the Nephilim and the Book of Enoch. The setting of the story, rather than being the modern world, is instead the Age of Discovery. The reason being that, this era - the early 16th century, was a tumultous period when Christianity was spread via the early colonial Empires, and much of it involved horrific tales of the Inquisition and subjugation of conquered peoples. What better a place, then, for a novel inspired by Christian mythology than such a period? ----------------------------------------------------------- Highest Tag Rankings: 1st in #thought-provoking --- November 22nd, 2022 2nd in #cosmichorror --- September 30th, 2022 3rd in #lovecraftian --- September 8th, 2022 3rd in #biblical --- January 19th, 2023

I felt a sneaking suspicion crawl up my spine. "The exam was way too easy." About 100 years ago, a strange meteor crashed into the Earth's surface, and a baby boy with special abilities was born shortly after. Since then, only fifteen percent of the children born after the meteor's landing had unique special abilities. Many of those in the newer generations trained to use their gifts to help humanity. But where there is light, there will always be darkness. Kenzo Langston enrolls into Dysnomia Academy, a school known in the underground world for its ruthless entrance exam and rigorous courses. With a variety of personal reasons, each student strives to be a villain that can stand up against the high and mighty heroes. What does Dysnomia Academy have in store for its students? Why did Kenzo enroll into a villain academy instead of using his powers to become a hero? How far will he go to achieve his goals? [NA Featured] He could move, talk and feel. Something said impossible. Yet she couldn't help but love him. _ "Turn around slowly," said the intruder with significant command. "P-Please don't-" I stuttered. My breath hitched when a hand gripped my shoulder. The dire state had no chance to recede when I was jerked around for a face to face encounter. Fear demanded all of me, yet I had a moment of anticipation of whom I reckoned to see. "Alfie?" Once I set my eyes on the person who just forced authority, I was struck with bewilderment. A male, similar to those I thought only exist on a poster, now stood before me. His face was strong and defined. His hazel eyes were prominently alluring. As I stood at a 5'7, my head barely level his shoulder. A slight glow shimmered in his gaze, and it earned him more of my stupefaction. What I didn't expect next was the sight of his lips quirking upward. The knife in his hand fell with a silent thud as it hit the floor. The sound howled me back to reality in a haphazard manner. Before I could react, he pulled me into a firm embrace. Although still confused about what was happening, my body protested against my brain's command to pull away. _ In the future, women step up to govern the earth, a new ruling to heal the aftermath of a devastating war. HEROIN, a constitution with authority, claims the reappearance of men as a mere vessel, retained by nature to seed population. When Charis falls in love with her pod, her view of men changes. Little does she know that her attempt to protect him will be the beginning of unravelling the dark truth about what she thought of as Utopia. A test of judgment awaits; her believes against the world soon become the key to save humanity.
