He then noticed that the boy was giving off a large magic power that was melting the ground under. Acnologia took interest in the boy and took him under his wing teaching him his Dragon slayer magic. When Natsu killed his first dragon he then discovered that he could steel their magic gaining more magic. When Acnologia saw this he was amused and impressed by the boy and together they went out to slay Dragons. Over the year Acnologia grew attached to the Natsu like his own son, he enjoyed the Boy. But one day Acnologia decides to part with Natsu so the boy could go on his own adventures and make friends and mates as Natsu is a special Dragon with unlimited magic at his disposal. Acnologia gave him three gifts a scarf made out of his scales, A Cloak just like his, and Katana made from an iron Dragon claw. It's Sharpness could cut a mountain in half with just a swing.
