The legend got it wrong, this is the real story: Robyn wasn't a boy, he was a feisty she, and she was brilliant. Marion was the blacksmith, and a mighty fine lad he was. (Did you know Marion used to be a very popular boy's name until about the 1920s? It meant 'son of Mary'). The gang's all here - Joan from Littleton, Ellen A'Dale, Will (who turns bright red around horses, because he's allergic), Madge Miller, and Robyn's Mum, who is always saying 'tie your frock, come on tuck, tuck.' This is a complete novel, work based on the legend. Enjoy!

Although David looks like a normal sixteen-year-old, he is torn between the need to kill and craving a life he can't have. When he meets Wanda on the lonely road to Hughenden, she has no way of knowing what he is. Will his desires lead him to something more than a life of aching hunger? Thank you Helen Armstrong for your help in developing this blurb. The first episode will be published on July 31, 2015. Further episodes will be posted every five days until completion. This story contains some strong language, and there is one scene with a description of fatal injuries. It does not feature sex. Although I had intended the full story to be available on Wattpad, I have run out of time. It's time to do some editing now so that it can be made commercially available at the end of the year, both in hard copy and digital forms.

Stargirl of the Edge is an educational, inspirational coming-of-age story aimed at YA, mainly female learners worldwide, especially in China. It tells the story of Olivia, a 17 year old A level student who lives near the mystical hill in Cheshire, Alderley Edge. It aims to inspire people to think, explore and imagine. The north west of England is showcased to a world audience, especially its education and research facilities including Manchester University, MMU, the John Rylands Library and Jodrell Bank. Alan Turing is reincarnated as Olivia’s tutor. The story functions as a manual on how to learn and deal with stress, in the first half coping with dyslexia, school and exams and in the second half the kidnapping of her father abroad. It’s a gripping, page-turning semi-autobiographical story in which fantasy is interwoven with contemporary drama. Written in clear English it aims to help people learn English. There is also some Chinese language content. At the end there is a powerful message, encouraging people to dream, aspire and be creative. Conceived as a feature film and then expanded into a novel, it has potential as a film or TV drama. Exercises and tasks could be developed to help learners gain as much as possible. My dream is for it to be read by students in China and around the world, persuading them to come to Manchester, Liverpool and northern England for vacation and study. I hope to use it to promote my English classes and tours and do talks at schools, libraries, festivals and other events.
