Y/N Reynolds is an American professor, formerly the potions mistress at Ilvermorny, who has relocated to Great Britain for reasons yet to be revealed. Through connections, she is offered a position to assist at Hogwarts by the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. Upon beginning the new term, Professor Reynolds is faced with many challenging tasks, one of which is winning over the brooding potions master, Severus Snape. "I think, like the sortings, each school is a little different. Each house at Ilvermorny represents part of the body of a wizard. The Horned Serpents are the mind, the Wampus' are the body, the Pukwudgie's are the heart and the Thunderbirds are the...soul." You explain to them. Snape looks up to you as you finish your statement to the staff. His hair makes a nice frame around his face. "Soul?" Snape thinks. "How could this girl embody the soul?" Story starts off with some plot, smut and angst, then will start from the beginning. I chose to use a last name for Y/N because it is simpler for me to write. Starts in GOF. Finished OOTP. Professor Snape was the most intimidating figure at Hogwarts, his cold, judging gaze and sharp words making it clear he despised everyone, especially me. He seemed to single me out, and no matter what I did, I couldn't escape his disdain. It felt personal, like my very presence irritated him. But over time, I began to notice subtle changes. He started watching me more closely, and his expressions sometimes softened, though I couldn't quite place it. I tried to ignore it, but the more I saw, the more I wondered if there was more beneath his cold exterior. Could I have finally become more than just an annoyance to him? Or was something darker at play?

After the war, Severus takes a much-needed vacation. He meets an interesting woman traveling the country before starting a new post as a professor. He doesn't find out where until he returns to Hogwarts and finds her in the staff meeting called by the headmistress Minerva.
