"A beat is the timing and movement of a film or play. In the context of a screenplay, it usually represents a pause in dialogue. In the context of the timing of a film, a beat refers to an event, decision, or discovery that alters the way the protagonist pursues his or her goal." Timing is a funny thing. That thing six months ago can sneak back up, crawling into your gut, and worm into your deepest feelings. Isn't everyone's goal in life to find pure happiness? It's the journey to that happiness that humanity craves. The beat of your narrative. This is the beat of Dempeo.

"The hardest part of being on a tv show is not falling in love with the co-star"- Patrick Dempsey This starts in 2004 when Ellen and Patrick met and will hopefully carry on until present day (there will probably be a huge jump from 2015 to present day). I'm going to try and add as much in from interviews and photo shoots etc. as possible to make it realistic. I'm going to try and go into as much detail as possible so the chapters may be quite long. It may contain some more mature scenes so I'd suggest being 16+ to read this. *This is what I (and probably every other dempeo fan) hope happened but is in no way the truth or meant to be offensive to anyone the story includes P.S I'm sorry if the writing is terrible, this is my first fanfic! https://youtu.be/8hdntaRs5RM

On a quiet afternoon in early Summer, Patrick pondered what it would be like to see her again. He had spent the last seven years waking up next to Jillian but not a day went by when he didn't wonder. With each passing year being without her hurt a little less but on any given day he could still feel her if he allowed himself. He could smell her on his skin, hear her laugh. Working with her again could provide a setback that would be impossible to recover from. That was just considering his feelings. He couldn't imagine the kind of havoc this was going to wreak on his marriage. A knock at the door broke the silence of the house and the chaos of his thoughts. It was on this Summer afternoon in Maine that Patrick's life would be changed forever. Could a knock at the door send his life spinning down another path? Or would it simply right a wrong that had been done years ago?
