Andy couldn't stay in DC anymore, not when everywhere she looked she saw him. Neither could she stay in that ER, not when all of her colleagues had seen her have a mental break down. So now she was in Pittsburgh, beginning her life again. Andy had a plan to build a better, more stable and healthy life, only that plan was very quickly hijacked by a closed off veteran with a dry sense of humour and an obsession for his work.

It starts with silence. Then praise. Then a look no one else gets. But as shift after shift pulls them closer, the lines blur between protection and possession, control and care. He doesn't touch her-until she touches him. And when the tension finally snaps, the fallout is inevitable. He warned her once: "If I cross that line, I won't go back." She whispered back: "Then don't

It was easy to let darkness creep in when working the night shift. Dr. Kate Monroe found that out pretty quickly. She also learned that despite the darkness, there's always light, no matter how dim. The Emergency Department at PTMC was no walk in the park by any means, but a certain doctor helped to make each day better. What Kate didn't know is she helped him find his way back to the light as well.

It had been two years since you and Jack had gotten engaged, you had taken a position as Chief Resident and everything had fallen into place. Now, you had not only bought a house but were also planning a wedding. Things had settled - calm, real, peaceful. But can this really last, the peace, the calm? Can you and Jack hold through anything? This will continue to expand on the power dynamic relationship. There will be discussions around baby loss, infertility, family trauma, PTSD, mental health, eating disorders and OCD. But it will be softer than the first book - less fast paced trauma and fighting for every element of their relationship but more settling into the life they've built together and that transition from the intense passion to something long lasting and solid, which in itself comes with new challenges, reality (honestly I think I've been listening to too much Noah Kahan which has influenced the soft edges, reflective tone of this!). This is a continuation book from 'I've Been Thinking Lately, Everybody's Crazy'. I had some amazing feedback and comments from you guys so thank you very much. It spurred me on to keep writing!

Allyanna Brooks has spent her entire life moving forward with the same people beside her. The same best friends. The same schools. The same path. Now, at twenty-eight years old, Ally is exactly where she's always dreamed of being-an Emergency Medicine resident at The Pitt, surrounded by the people who have become her family. She knows every hallway. Every nurse. Every attending. Every corner of the organized chaos she calls home. Then a staffing change changes everything. In two days, Ally is transferred to nights. A different world. A different team. A different life. And a night-shift attending named Jack Abbott. Quiet. Brilliant. Impossible to read. Abbott has spent years keeping his focus where it belongs: on his patients, his department, and surviving another shift. The last thing he wants is a new resident disrupting the carefully controlled rhythm of his nights. Especially one who talks too much. Drinks entirely too much Starbucks. Makes friends with everyone she meets. And somehow finds a way to make even the hardest shifts feel lighter. What begins as reluctant mentorship slowly becomes something neither of them expected. But hospitals are built on long hours, impossible decisions, heartbreaking losses, and the kind of sacrifices that follow you home. As Ally fights to prove she belongs on nights and Abbott struggles against feelings he never planned to have, both discover that some people have a way of changing your life when you least expect it. Set against the relentless pace of emergency medicine, this is a slow-burn romance about finding your place, letting go of the life you planned, and discovering that sometimes the people who change you most are the ones you never saw coming. Because in the emergency room, everything can change in a single shift. Including your heart.
