She broke down in front of her fifth-grade homeroom teacher when she stayed after school one day. The teacher called CPS, who found Emily. Molly loved her sister. Molly's mother died when Molly was two, and Brian - Emily and Molly's father - got back together with Elizabeth, Emily's mother. Elizabeth resented Molly, a reminder of Brian's past relationship, and hated the girl. Brian, in the same vein, saw Molly as an extension of her mother.
