Never in a million year's would anyone think you could be so lucky to meet your life partner in your teens ? But that's exactly what happened to Mariah and Tessa when they see each other in a Boston bar while they are attending University/college. They go on to explore each other and see what it's like to fall in love at a very early age and also have a few up's and downs along the way. At the end of the day the only thing that matter's is the bond these two women have for each other and how they navigate through life together and have each other's backs .

Mariah is a spunky reporter, who's family caters to the vampire world of Genoa City. Tessa's an enforcer for the Vampire High Council, in Genoa City to clean up a mess. But will a dark secret from Tessa's past get Mariah killed. Or will Tessa's love be enough to save her. This story and outline were put together by myself and Bmaglyn13, but the writing was me. Though she did read through it and suggest some changes. She also designed the cover. Please know that this is planned out for 10 chapters, and I'm taking care and time to write each one. The introduction is not one of the ten chapters, but it contains information pertinent to the storyline.

Mariah works for Devon at the Hamilton-Winters Group as an assistant and music scout. Tessa is a singer/songwriter playing dive bars. What happens when the music brings them together? Tessa questions if Mariah truly wants a future with her following Abby's surrogacy request. After months of no follow-up on her interrupted proposal, Tessa wonders if Mariah is looking to start their own next chapter together or if Abby is the priority. Mariah and Tessa have a legitimate discussion about how the surrogacy request may impact their relationship and lives. Notes: The current Y&R storyline is so offensive. I can't believe what they have done to Teriah. Y&R has failed to give Tessa a point of view; the limited dialogue she has seems ridiculous. There was no consideration given to the impact of surrogacy on Teriah's relationship or lives. That is completely unacceptable and unrealistic. In order for them to move forward, this would need to be addressed. I tried to present a reasonable reaction to the request and discussion between Teriah. There is a bit of wish fulfillment here. I just want to pretend this happened instead of what we're being subjected to on screen. I'm writing a happy Teriah fic sequel. Personal Notes: As someone who relates to Teriah and has done reciprocal IVF with my wife, I find this storyline extremely disturbing. It robs these characters of something from their own future family building that isn't being acknowledged. Especially for LGBTQ couples, there are so many considerations in decisions around family building, especially if they decide to have children together. Specifically for lesbian couples, regardless of who carries or who is genetically related to the baby, each mom would face a variety of complex feelings during and after pregnancy. Adding an experience of surrogacy (which is illegal for a first time pregnancy) to the mix adds a significant complexity that would need to be addressed. It's mindboggling Y&R would write this for a LGBTQ couple, especially in this manner with no legit discussion and Tessa barely present. Thank you for reading or indulging me as this has become my coping mechanism to the storyline.

Abby needs to learn to knock if Mariah and Tessa are going to be staying with her. This story takes place during the surrogacy storyline. I am making the assumption that Mariah and Tessa will move to the Chancellor estate. The Young and the Restless surrogate storyline makes me very unhappy to put it mildly - miserable to be more accurate. I am trying to lighten it up. Teriah deserves so much better. I miss seeing these two have their own storyline and meaningful dialogue.

Mariah goes to confess her feelings to Tessa on Halloween night but Tessa is done with talking and thinks action is necessary to resolve the tension between them. She believes the only way for them to move on is to get what they are feeling out of their systems. Things do not go as Tessa intends and they are both left dealing with the ramifications of their night together. This will be an adult fanfiction and there will be angst. If it will be sexually explicit in any chapters, I will provide a warning. I hope the characters' genuine struggle rings through. Story Notes: I tried to include Tessa's perspective as much as possible because I feel that is something that viewers of the Young and the Restless were deprived of during the storylines. I do shift back and forth between the two character's perspectives, hopefully it makes sense. Side Notes: I have been so negatively impacted by the surrogate storyline and Teriah's lack of airtime together. It has struck a chord and not in a good way. This was an attempt at reclaiming some sort of connection with the characters and the wonderful angst and longing they used to bring to the screen. I wish the Y&R would fully utilize these two amazingly talented actresses and the characters they have brought to life. We need more Tessa Porter! Any sexual content in the story is in no way intended as any form of disrespect to the actresses playing the roles. I have so much admiration for them and appreciation for the work they do. This is just a further fictionalization of the characters they play. Thank you for reading.
