My first attempt at poetry writing. Blame the pandemic! The first four poems were written during the global lockdown. Stressful times bought out pent-up thoughts and emotions, and luckily, I was able to pour them out in a constructive manner. Yes, it may have grammatical errors or may even sound gibberish. 🙏🙈 There is the sudden urge, i catch onto a word or a thought and then my mind doesn't rest until i develop the idea and write something sensible (well most of the time i try to sound like one). That is how i wrote these poems. Still on the path of learning, so if there are any mistakes please do let me know and am willing to learn! How to capture it all? I was no photographer My paint brushes, I have retired And words simply do not belong On a cover The same way they fit In my mouth, or march along the surface Of these pages. How to capture it all? The sounds, the smells, the blurring lights as life rushes past me. The things I feel but have not found reflected around me. The images that Undoubtedly Would stop the carbon copy of myself And urge, "Read me." How to capture it all? But some questions and answers Like some estranged partners Walk on opposite sides of the road. So I draw one line to the next Connecting the right And what's left of the unknown Into the semblance of a city. Do we want to escape the realities of our lives if there were only pleasure and happiness, not horrendous lies? Some say an abundance of darkness is what makes us appreciate a trickle of light. There was meant to be a balance not a pit of chaos in this world of ours. This is the collection of my internal conflicts, the thoughts that overpowered me with the darkest hour where the monsters chased, destroyed and ruined me to the edge of insanity. Fourteen year old me was scared and misunderstood. But eventually, I found my voice in form of words that understood and made me the way I am today. A strong person who can fend off those monsters with blood tinted swords. No more fearful To all the people out there, I acknowledge your presence and understand your feelings. You are surviving the horrors of life. But one day I promise you, It will be all worth it in the end if you believe in yourself.

winter changes a lot of things. the forest sings hymns of a frozen country, the ice shields our forgotten memories, blue seas have long to journey before they turn to mist, these are the days from an artist's messy canvas, the pine trees are covered in snow, fire-place afternoons and time that slows, the story-tales are hushed on every street, the winter bird hums a song so sweet, these are new beginnings and the end of times- those days when winter arrives.
