Instead, Anakin Skywalker caused the downfall of the Jedi and the rise of power for the Dark Side. With Darth Vader the Dark Side grew strong yet in the end, he killed the Emperor, not only redeeming himself but also finally restoring balance to the Force as the prophecy had foretold.
