He did not come alone. The birth of Tyden Aerius marks the dawn of our ending. As the lord of air, he has the ability to whisper to avian beasts and control the winds, but his greatest strength, and weakness, lies in his soul. It is a vessel, and he the embodiment, of gods. Before his birth, his mother is warned of the chaos he will bring. But having seen her own her version of the prophecy, she raises him in seclusion with her husband, a legendary dead-eye, and tries to mould from that volatile soul a sword that will defend mankind in the wars against the ná'híra and the bi'sári: mysterious aliens who pose as our divinity. In this overture, Tyden goes thru trials and omens that evince he is a creature the world is not ready to face. Those who love him are charged, for the survival of mankind, to help him confront his destiny, or to kill him before it is too late.

Haruto, Crown Prince of Hos, wishes a lot of things. He wishes that he could be taken more seriously. He wishes that he wasn't so sick all of the time. And most importantly, he wishes that he didn't have to be king one day. He hardly feels like a prince. And he certainly doesn't act like one a majority of the time! When nightmares become reality, Haruto makes a decision that will change the course of his life and the fate of his kingdom forever.
