A fanfic revolving around the two main characters (Merlin and King Arthur) in the much loved series, Merlin. Merlin remembers the faint memory of Gaius saying something along the lines of-- ''...you'll know when he's back when it all changes''. It hadn't meant anything... Until now.

Merlin and Arthur. There never was, nor would there be, a pair quite like those two. Arthur, the Once And Future king of Camelot; and Merlin, the greatest sorcerer of all time. Of course, Arthur doesn't know about Merlin, nor does he know about the way Merlin is starting to feel... In the very beginning, Merlin had realized his love for his master, but then his master had realized his love for Morgana's old handmaid, Gwen. Merlin was heartbroken, but got over it, or at least he told himself that he had. Gwen has just been cast out of Camelot, and Merlin is rediscovering his old feelings for Arthur. Now Merlin has a chance, but will Arthur look at Merlin in the way Merlin looks at him? Only time can tell, but there is very little time for such things now. Morgana is plotting up some evil scheme that will kill Merlin, Arthur, the knights, and take over Camelot. With forces aligning behind her, there's a chance that Morgana may even win. As Merlin struggles to show Arthur his love, all of Camelot is in danger of Morgana's powerful magic. So what happens if Camelot falls?

Camelot is under control of Arthur Pendragon, accompanied by Merlin as his servant. When Morgana disguises herself as an innocent townsperson and enters Camelot undetected, how will they protect the kingdom?

(Set in present time) Merlin pulled his bulky warm coat around him as the autumn wind whipped around him, slicing through his clothes like daggers. Red and orange leaves littered the ground, staining the green grass in the park. He didn't know why he was at the park at seven o clock in the morning but he woke up in a sweat, terrified from a nightmare he couldn't remember, and had a sudden...urge?... To go to the park.

Long Live The King! Arthur has fallen and Morgana is dead and so are Mordred in their attempt to take over Camelot. I know there are a load of Merthur fics out there but they are either AU's or one shots, and I really wanted one that went with the story line of the show.
