Her father seems drawn to the waves as well, staring at them every morning as if he is waiting for someone. However, the answers start to unravel when her mother reappears and reveals herself to be a mermaid. Suddenly, the stares and whispers that Nixie has heard throughout her childhood make sense. She is a half-breed, stuck between two worlds where she feels like an outsider. To add to the chaos, Nixie receives her acceptance letter to none other than Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Determined to blend in and hopefully make some friends, Nixie attempts to hide her lineage, but she can only hide who she really is for so long. Especially when a boy by the name of Sirius Black seems so utterly determined to be part of her world.
