Freshly graduating from the 99th trainee's squad at the age of 17, Sophia seeks to join the Military Police in hopes of one day being able to move her whole family far why from the precarious Shinganshina District and into the safe walls of Sina. But one day, after graduation and a long four years have gone from her family, she returns home, proud to what she had accomplished and yearning to finally being able to bond with her family after all this time. However, what she expected as a family moment of approval and harmony, turned into one of dispute and disagreement. Her father's disapproval for her choice of life led to a father and daughter conflict with both sides sharing words that the two would later regret saying to each other. Being kicked out home by her own father, she leaves the Shinganshina district heartbroken and enraged. She wasn't expecting her father to ever forgive her, especially after what she angrily yelled at him: "I wish you'd be eaten by a titan so you can see what a dreadful choice was staying in this hell cell." But what she didn't realize is later that day her wish coming true. With Shinganshina and Wall Maria being breached and her family forever lost, all Sophia ever held dearly for was lost that fateful moment Traumatized and disheartened, Sophia hoped that somehow there's a way to take back every bad thing she said to her father. She never truly sought or hoped for any of the events to occur. All that she wanted was to be accepted as to who she really is, and wished for once to truly find the one place she can call home.
