When Aponi is forced into a treatment facility for her eating disorder, falling in love is the last thing on her mind, until she meets Finn. ***** Aponi Hall had other plans for the final days of summer. She wanted to get her life together, earn a bit more money at the water park where she worked, and spend time with her boyfriend of four years. Those plans are shattered when Aponi's mom gives her an ultimatum: get help for her eating disorder or move out. But both girls are changing in monumental ways. After Aponi experiences a romantic awakening and reciprocates feelings for Finn, it seems nothing should stand in the way of their love. Well, nothing except for Aponi's long-term boyfriend Tokala, who plans to marry her and preserve their indigenous heritage. And maybe Finn's vengeful, lovesick ex-girlfriend, who is also a patient at Horizons. As a series of external forces intervene on their budding relationship, Aponi and Finn soon find that recovery may be the easy part.
