When you turn seventeen your "soulmate phone" is activated. You create a screen name and then you and your soulmate can text each other. Newt is skeptical about the whole soulmates thing so when Newt moves to the town his soulmate lives in he doesn't tell him. Newt wants to try and figure out who his soulmate is first, and then let him know he moved. The problem: Newt ends up falling in love with a boy named Thomas who is the exact opposite of what he thought his soulmate was going to be like.

"Remember that I love you!" Thomas shouts, Newt can never forget this. He can't forget that somebody cares about him. When Newt gets taken to the maze what lengths will Thomas go to in order to protect him?
