Die Geschichte wird derzeit überarbeitet. Die 16-jährige Maria wird von ihren Eltern zu ihrer Tante geschickt. Bei ihrer Tante wird sie es gut haben. Sie hat ein eigenes Café, in dem Maria aushelfen kann und sie kann die Schule beenden. Doch welche Chance hat sie wirklich, wenn sie von einem Ghetto in das nächste verfrachtet wird? Als sie am ersten Tag an ihrer neuen Schule ein Projekt und einen Partner zugeteilt bekommt, verändert sich ihr Leben komplett. Ihr Projektpartner Ben kommt aus der größten Familie im Ghetto, aus dem Ramirez-Clan. Sie scheinen sich nicht sonderlich gut zu verstehen, doch Maria fängt an, seine Stimmungsschwankungen zu verstehen. Diese Geschichte liegt mir schon lange am Herzen.
