Note: This book is the sequel to A Challenge, which is on my account, but can be read as a standalone. Cover designed by @Conejumper Vanessa Ireden is used to winning. She's a good rider, and has the best horses to do it. Medallion was supposed to be one of those horses, but the quirky mare has no intentions of doing so. For five months she frustrated Vanessa, so Vanessa decides she has no choice but to sell her. However, when what would have been her third win of the eventing season is stolen from her by a gray gelding called Challenger, and his rider, Tessa Wellen, her world starts changing. Intrigued by the gray gelding, Vanessa wants to buy him. But Tessa turns her down firmly, and Vanessa can't understand why, until she rides him herself and finds out the gray gelding is not as easy to handle as she thought. Her pride bruised, her confidence shaken, but her eyes open, Vanessa must make the choice to try again with Medallion. And if she does, to learn another way.

Madelyn lay breathless on the ground. Gasping for just one breathe. Atlas lay next to her with tack still on and breathed raspy breaths. Soon all went blurry and black as Madelyn lost consciousness. Madelyn is an all-around equestrian star and has highly-trained horses. She has just gotten a new horse, Atlas, who is her current training project. They both get up to the point where Atlas is very good at cross-country. When things are looking good, Madelyn enters herself and Atlas in a high competition cross-country course. However, that is when things go downhill. Atlas turns wild and unbreakable, and they both have a rational fall. Will Madelyn have the courage to get back into the saddle, not only on Atlas, but any horse, or will she have to give up her dream just because of fear?
