Five years into to the war, the Order is pulling ahead after ages of drastically losing. Draco Malfoy notices. He wants in. He offers himself as a double agent, but the Order requests more. They've created a new spell that binds two people's magical cores together in order to make a nearly unbeatable pair of duelists. Draco agrees to bind himself to the person most compatible with his magical core. Even if it is Hermione Granger.

Hermione Granger has crossed the point of caring when Kingsley gives her the assignment of being the primary contact for the Order's new spy within the Death Eaters. When her spy turns out to be Draco Malfoy, against Kingsley's orders, the two form a shaky alliance to destroy bring about the destruction of several Death Eater bases. Their shaky alliance turns into something more, but so do Voldemort's forces, and things get even more complicated when Kingsley threatens to throw Hermione out of the Order. At least Draco seems to be watching her back. Written 2021

Draco and Harry never had a petty rivalry in Hogwarts. Instead of being repulsed by Hermione as Harry's best friend, he's intrigued by the smartest girl in their class. Now it's 7th year and while their friendship may have been a little tough before, it's near impossible now as they find themselves on different sides of the war. Unfortunately for both of them, that doesn't seem to affect their growing feeling for each other. When they end up as Head Boy and Head Girl, they're not sure if that makes things better or worse.
