Y/N was known to be the "Queen of the Court", with her maturity and level-headed thinking when it came to matches. It gave her complete dominance over the court- like a chess player moving each piece to her own will. Everyone adored her, but she didn't like the attention. It was the opposite for Kageyama Tobio. He was nicknamed "King of the Court" for being a selfish dictator. He didn't mind whatever he was called as long as he could still play, but that was until it cost him a match- the same one that would be his last. Sure, it was only a slap on the wrist: being benched during a game in middle school. But for him, it was everything. And he has never been the same since. Kageyama went to Karasuno because of the rumour that Ukai, the famous coach, would be back. For Y/N, coincidentally, heard the same rumour and reasoned to herself that she just wanted to spend her high school life with volleyball still by her side. Close but also so far- having decided to live vicariously so that she won't have to carry the heavy crown of playing it. But now, with the famous prodigies, King and Queen, in the same school, how then can Kageyama and Y/N navigate their high school lives if they're constantly being tangled in each other's businesses?
