That bridge has been the only bridge for as long as any witch, animal, or human can remember. Animals and witches know that the bridge is still alive, and is roaming the mortal realm. He comes back to visit the witches realm once a year while he is almost always around the animals and mortals. Over the centuries the mortals have cease to believe that the witches are real let alone the bridge. They don't believe that he exists and that he is just a myth to make stories of.
