"The name's Slut. Nice to meet you." - A story where in the degrading, idiotic, and unnecessary stereotypical book of names, Piper is labeled as a slut. HIGHEST ACHIEVEMENT | #3 in short story

I looked down at the cars on the road and the people way down on the sidewalk. They looked like they were having fun.... I mentally slapped myself. "No," I said aloud. "You like it up here," I told myself, trying to smother the little spark inside of me that I knew wanted to just jump right off the balcony. __________________________________________________________ According to Mother, the only time that I ever left this apartment was when I was born in a hospital a few blocks away. My entire world view is limited to whatever I can see from our 37th story penthouse, which, honestly, isn't much. Mother thought that she controlled every aspect of my life. She was wrong. *formerly titled 'Let Down Your Hair'* ******************** Copyright © 2013 by Holly Ruth || Hollyruth If you see anyone copying this book, please let me know by a private message on wattpad. Meet Lexie McGinty. Unfulfilled Graphic Designer at Bostock Bank and according to her best friend Evie 'proper lovely'. Lexie's loves, particularly snowboarding and Labradors - seem to have been filed away in the drawer marked 'Time to get sensible' Navigating through the murk of London life; career, boyfriend, getting a toe (let alone a foot) on the housing ladder is all proving to be slightly underwhelming. So, when the global recession hits hard and redundancy beckons, she's left without a job for the first time in her life. But, as her wise and wonderful (if a little cantankerous) Grandmother would say, every cloud has a silver lining. At least unemployment means boyfriend Henry might get off her back about buying a house. Lexie wishes she had the same pluck as her best friend Evie, who has a million and one ideas about which direction she should go (none of which involve Henry, incidentally.) Then life throws another curveball that sends her on an adventure she never anticipated. The population of Fraser Mountain has just increased by one. When Lexie finds herself far from home in the frigid winter of the Canadian Rockies, she meets a motley crew of ski-bums, handsome ski-patrollers and friendly locals who live the dream, united by a passion for snow sports and mountain life. With no job, no boyfriend and no real plan, can she really fit in and carve out a new life, and find new love, in Fraser, or should she face up to her responsibilities and get back on the grown up bus? _________ Hello! My name is Alex and I wrote this novel based on my experiences when I upped sticks from London to live in a small ski town in Canada a few years ago. I absolutely loved writing this book and I really hope that those who read some or all of it enjoy the story, maybe giggle a few times, and give me some great feedback - thank you!

A DRAMIONE FANFICTION Ever since the breakup with Ron, Hermione's been heartbroken. She doesn't believe in love - not after he left her for Lavender. And she certainly doesn't think that she'll ever recover. In her spare time at working in the Ministry, she passionately writes short, dark poems that are grim and foreboding. The reason? So she won't die from sadness. Hermione channeled at her anger, all her sorrow, her energy, into her writing. So what happens when her whole collection goes missing? What happens then? And happens when she gets them, two days later, back, but with a mysterious note that holds a poem of it's own and a compliment for her? It's why she is stunned when the person reveals itself - and it is the last person she thinks it could be. So begins a heart wrenching journey into the world of love.. and Hermione will realize that not everything is what it seems. THIS WAS AN ORIGINAL IDEA- PLEASE DO NOT COPY AS I HAVE PUT A LOT OF WORK IN IT. THANK YOU.
