Each god gets a necklace when the turn the human equivalent of 13. This necklace has their soulmates name carved into it in runes. The other person has the same thing. Gods can have a god or a mortal as their soulmate. Y/n was kicked out of his home when he came out as gay and when the necklace appeared on him.
